Our Mission or Remembrance through Living History

Why is it important?

It is important to keep this alive as an American but it is equally important as a Canadian.  During the Civil War 2.1 Million Men served in the Union Army and 620,000 died, the 49th NYVI lost a total of 320 men during service; 15 Officers and 126 Enlisted Men, Killed or Mortally Wounded a further 5 Officers and 174 Enlisted Men died of Disease.

Between 33,000 and 55,000 Men from British North America joined with their American brethren and fought in the Civil War most for the Union.
